Kathikas

Kathikas is approximately 20 minutes drive from Peyia and has a long history as a resting place for merchants travelling between Paphos and Latchi.

The remains of a circular Roman road can be seen in Kathikas. Although the historic taverna no longer exists, it has been replaced by more modern ones.

With a population of approximately 350, the village offers something for everyone. Famous for its vineyards, the village is surrounded by vines and is renowned for the quality of its grapes. Many of the vines have been in the same family for generations.

Two very famous wineries open their doors to visitors, so you can enjoy the winemaker’s craft. The village is also home to a donkey sanctuary and a tourist information centre.

The village retains its old world character whilst encouraging selected new developments. In the heart of the village there are well-known restaurants and coffee shops.

The village square has a small taverna where you can enjoy a cool drink whilst sitting under the trees.

There is no main church, but a small chapel serves the needs of the village.

The restaurant’s walls are decorated with Cyprus traditional tools which were used daily by Kathikas locals in the old days .

The Farm Yard Tavern

The Farm Yard is a traditional Cyprus village tavern on the main Polis Chrysochou to Kathikas-Stroumbi road.

Upon entering the Farm Yard restaurant tavern, you will receive a warm welcome in a relaxing and tranquil setting. Offering fantastic views of the Troodos mountains and surrounded by beautiful settings.

Petradakis Taverna

Situated on the outskirts of Kathikas, the Petradaki Taverna is an impressive three storey stone building, owned and run by Bambos and Nikki Polemitis.

The first impression that strikes visitors as they enter the Taverna is the imaginative décor, designed by Nikki. Decoration is to a high standard, demonstrating true Cypriot charm and style.

Bambos and Nikki offer top quality Cypriot and International dishes and excellent wines, all at reasonable prices.

Imogens Inn Taverna

Imogens Inn Taverna/Restaurant is in Kathikas village and is directly opposite the church.

The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, the staff are friendly. A lively popular place to enjoy a meal especially in the shaded courtyard.
