Coral Bay

Coral Bay is possibly one of the most stunning holiday resorts in Cyprus. It is a popular tourist resort in the Peyia municipality approximately 4 miles North of the town of Paphos and a 10 minutes drive from Peyia village.

The bay itself is a natural beach spanning 600m in a crescent shape of powdery white sand enclosed by a pair of limestone headlands. The beaches here are ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The sea has a shallow margin, making it ideal for children to play safely. There are many water sports on offer including pedalos, water skiing, banana boats, jet skis and windsurfing.

Coral Bay beach carries an EU Blue Flag certification which means that it adheres to all standards, rules and regulations required by the European Union. This makes Coral Bay a cosmopolitan beach visited by tourists and locals alike.

In the town there are banks, mini markets, bars and restaurants which serve all types of good food. If you are looking for entertainment you will find Elvis Presley, Michael Buble and other impersonators in the bars along the strip.

There is a regular bus service to the neighbouring resort of Paphos.

The coast to the west and to the east of coral bay is characterized by rocky headlands and sea caves.

The broader area of Coral Bay encloses another beach called Potima Bay. It is situated about 1 mile away bordering the boundaries of Kissonerga village. This beach is a long pebbly beach with a deep blue sea that offers relaxation, tranquility and privacy and attracts swimmers that are seeking just that.

A regular bus service runs between Coral Bay and Potima Bay every 15 minutes and the journey time is 3 minutes.

Found nestling off the beaten track in the sea caves area just west of Coral Bay, is the Oniro by the Sea, Bar and Bites Cafe with fantastic views across the sea.

The Edro III, an 83 meter long, 2,517 ton freighter ran aground in stormy weather on 8 December 2011 and can be clearly seen from the Oniro

The Oniro markets itself as a ‘Bar ‘n’ Bites’ café - and its position close to a cliff overlooking the sea caves with their stunning rock faces is enviable, making sure the café is usually busy.
