Tala Village
Eight km north of the city of Paphos you will find the village of Tala which connects with Emba village in the south and the monastery of ‘Agios Neofytos’ in the north-east and from there on with the city of Paphos. The village is built at an altitude of 280 meters and has a general tilt from the north-east to the south-west with the altitudes ranging from 150 to 600 meters. The average annual rainfall is around 520 millimeters which helps with the growing of grapes both table and wine making, cereals, forage plants, vegetables, locust beans, olives, almonds, walnut, banana, orange and lemon trees.
An important mediaeval monument of the village is the church of Agia Ekaterini (St.Catherine) of the 15th/16th century. Also quite close to the village stands the monastery of Agios Neofytos which had a significant influence on various sectors in the whole life and activity’s of the village. South of the village there are indications of the existence of an archaeological area dating back to prehistoric times.
NEW CHURCH
The new church in the Square is now open and if you have a chance and the doors are open, please call in and have a look. It was completed in 2012 and is built on land which used to house the village nursery school

The Church is the Church of Jesus Christ’s Nativity and will now be the main church for the village of Tala.
The building stands commandingly at one end of the Square and has become a landmark in the village.
The interior of the church is beautiful with the pillars decorated with effigies of saints.
